Wardrope and Munich, the latest from Authentics

wardrope04.jpg

Authentics the German brand, has launched two new simple and functional products in the 2010 Maison & Objet Fair; Wardrope, a clothes rack that is composed of a rope that is suspended from the ceiling; and Munich, a resistant portable table lamp.

Wardrope has been designed by Susa Stofer and Veronika Wildgruber and consists of a polyamide rope with several anchored elements along its length that allow pieces of clothing to be hung, resembling the branches of a tree. The weight of the clothing and the counterweight that hangs from the tip of the rope provide stability to the unit.

The length of the rack is variable as is the placing of the hangers along the rope. Available in black and red, the grouping of several ropes recreates a landscape of slim tree trunks.

Munich is a cylindrical lamp inspired in the beer jars of the Oktoberfest that is held every year in this German city. Made from opaque polypropylene, this lamp designed by Volker Albus and Stefan Legner, is easy to carry and can be turned on whilst holding it by its handle.
