ABOUT THE AUTHOR
André Ricard is an industrial designer, writer and academic. He has been president of the ADI-FAD, founding president of the ADP, vice president of the ICSID and the BCD, member of the faculty of the Art Centre of Switzerland and founding president of the NGO Design for the World. He is currently an honorary member of the Academy of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi, and patron of the Eina Foundation and of the Loewe Foundation. He has published several books on design and received such prestigious distinctions as National Design Award 1987, the Creu de Sant Jordi from the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Ordre Olympique of the Committee International Olympic Games, Chevalier des Arts et des Letters de France and Gold Medal for Artistic Merit from the city of Barcelona. His works have also been honoured with numerous national and international awards. The Miró Foundation de Barcelona dedicated the exhibition El disseny del quotidià to the entirety of his work.
